The Unborn
It is all a play of light and shadow. You are the light only, and you are not even aware of that.
— Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
This is sahaja: no-thing is spontaneously Just This.
Absolute emptiness is the end of seeking. But is there an actual “end”?
That which has no beginning cannot cease. In Buddhism, this is called anutpāda: non-arisen. It’s the cessation of the sense of process and the cessation of the perception that anything is happening or ever happened.
Another way to point this out is that once the mind stops clinging to fabrication, it rests in the knowledge of non-production—anutpādajñāna.
The knowledge of non-creation.
There is no seeker, no world, no insight, no experience: no-thing.
There is no suffering, no cessation of suffering, no path to cessation: no knowing.
So we live out our life knowing (realizing) this, acting out the part we play with the same indifference as a stage actor, in the awareness that ultimately nothing really matters. This is the peace and freedom the scriptures ascribe to an empty mind. (Robert Wolfe)
Look closer: if something never truly took birth or arose, it is an error to say it ceased. You cannot extinguish a flame that was never burning in the first place.
There is only the incessant play of forms, an appearance of change; a mind of dreaming. In truth, nothing has ever changed. This baseline reality Just Is.
There is only this primal clarity.
Delusion is the creative, illusory play of wisdom.
This is what it means “the end of the path”.
Nothing truly exists. Everything is empty. Nothing is non-existent. Everything is very clear. When I just rest within empty lucidity, the false cavern of all things of samsara and nirvana implodes, and everything dawns as the ornamentation of ultimate reality. (Sera Khandro)
At the last stages, the path is like a non-linear dream; an explosion of creative radiance. It has a sense of meaning, urgency, and pattern—completely non-dimensional, yet compelling.
The path does not actually cease. There is no actual path.
Ramana says:
There is no creation and no dissolution. There is no bondage, no one doing spiritual practices, no one seeking spiritual liberation, and no one who is liberated. One who is established in the Self sees this by his knowledge of reality.
The world is illusion. Only the Self is real. The world is the Self.
Illusion = Reality
This is not awakening because awakening is a process—even when we say it's not, it's a lie, that's what it is: a process that never happened. What I'm speaking here is the Unborn.
Nothing actually awakens. There is not the slightest difference between samsara and nirvana. Nirvana is simply samsara seen clearly.
This clear seeing is not a special state—just the ordinary, unadorned baseline.
